From the founder
Why I built Kind.
“I have HSV. I looked at what existed. It wasn't good enough. So I built what should have been there all along.”
The Diagnosis
I have HSV. When I was diagnosed, everything I knew about dating got rewritten in a single appointment. The only thing that felt like it could put my world back together was finding someone who already understood, without having to lower my standards to get there.
What I Found
The apps that existed for our community had not been updated in over a decade. No real matching technology. No verification. No privacy. Interfaces from 2012. Built by companies that do not have HSV and do not care enough about the people who do. We deserved better.
Why I Built It
I have spent years building and scaling products that reach hundreds of thousands of users. When I saw what existed for our community, I was not going to sit around and wait for someone else to fix it. I knew I could build something better. So that is what I did.
The Mission
I know how isolating this diagnosis can be. Building Kind solves my own problem too. It puts me in control of something that felt completely out of my control. If someone meets the love of their life because Kind exists, then getting diagnosed will have been worth something meaningful.
“Your dating life isn't over. It's about to get a lot better.”
